As adviser on educational issues to Korinos High School and on behalf of my colleagues school advisers of Pieria, with great pleasure I welcome the current event under the European program Comenius on "Learn to read and read to learn".
At a time of crisis and uncertainty, amid controversy and fierce competition, it is surprising to see students of seven different schools, of six different states, to cooperate with each other to achieve a program that aims to preserve the culture of books and reading, despite the undeniable fact of the internet explosion.
We welcome the schools from Bulgaria, Italy, Hungary, Romania and Turkey that participate and we hope the students and accompanying teachers enjoy the hospitality of the Greek classmates and colleagues. We congratulate them on their successful participation and wish them to enjoy their stay in one of the most beautiful places, the place of residence of the gods of antiquity, at the foot of the legendary Mount Olympus.
Congratulations are specifically due to the students of Korinos gymnasium, to Mrs Plastara, Mrs Xirou, Mrs Albanidou, ,Mrs Reha,Mrs Konstantinidou, Mr Kotsonis,Mr Bourozikas, Mr Sidiropoulos who are responsible for carrying out the educational program, the teachers' Club and, of course, the director of the school, Mrs. Manola for the commendable and successful organization of the event.
I wish to all of you interesting presentations and fruitful exchange of ideas.
